Space Shuttle “Discovery” Makes Its Last Take-Off

The space shuttle “Discovery” docked on Saturday afternoon for the last time.

Alignment issues with the fuel tank and rocket boosters threatened to throw the shuttle off of schedule.

However, astronauts and crew devoted extra time to install the Express Logistics Carrier to stay on schedule.

“Discovery” began its thirty-ninth and last launch at 4:50 on Thursday from Kennedy Space Center in Florida.

NASA Space Shuttle to Launch Thursday

NASA’s Space Shuttle Discovery will fly into space for the last time on Thursday.

Crowds are expected to gather in thousands and current weather forecasts predicted an 80-percent chance of clear skies for a safe lift-off.

The shuttle launch is so bright any spectator on Florida’s space coast will be able to get a decent view.

Crew members of the shuttle are finishing up last-minute training excercises and reviewing launch day procedures.

The Shuttle Discovery is bound for the International Spance Station.
